Taroq!
Desktop Backgrounds 2

Wait!  Read this before you click on any of the links below!

This gallery contains large photos that you can use as backgrounds for your desktop.  But because they are large, these photos may take a long time to download.  If you have high-speed Internet access, one of these photos may only take 20 seconds or so to download.  If you use a modem to connect to the Internet one of these photos could take 3 to 5 minutes or even longer to download.  So be patient!

Note that these thumbnails are meant to give you an idea of what the photo is like, but they do not, in all cases, show the entire photo.

General download instructions:

Select the photo you would like to use for a desktop background and click on the link next to it that represents the screen resolution you use on your computer.

All photos are by Corey Gordon.

How to Determine Your Screen Resolution

For Windows:

  1. Right-click anywhere on your desktop (but it has to be on the desktop itself, not on a program or an icon).
  2. On the context menu that appears click on Properties.
  3. At the top of the Properties dialog, click on the tab that says Settings.
  4. On the lower left side of the Settings tab there is a control that says Screen Resolution.  Your current screen resolution is listed just below this control.

For Macintosh:

Sorry.  I hope to have Macintosh instructions up soon.

How to Turn a Photo into Your Desktop Background

For Windows:

  1. Once the complete photo has downloaded, right-click on it.
  2. From the context menu that appears click on Set As Wallpaper.

If you want to have more than one Circus Juventas background photo so that you can switch between them, you will need to save each of the photos in your My Pictures folder and then manually select the photo you want to use for a background:

  1. Click on the link next to the picture that represents the screen resolution you use on your computer.
  2. When the complete photo has downloaded, right-click on it and from the context menu choose Save Image As.
  3. In the Save Image dialog box drop down the directory chooser at the top of the dialog that's marked Save In.
  4. Navigate to your My Pictures folder.  This can be in slightly different locations depending on what version of Windows you use.  On Windows 98 or Windows ME the path to this directory is probably something like c:\My Documents\My Pictures.  In Windows XP the path is probably c:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\My Documents\My Pictures.
  5. Repeat this process to save as many Circus Juventas background photos as you want.
  6. Minimize your browser to get it out of the way and right-click anywhere on your desktop (but it must be on the desktop, not on an application or on an icon).
  7. On the context menu click on Properties.
  8. Click on the desktop tab at the top of the Properties dialog box.
  9. In the Background selection list at the bottom of the dialog box click on the name of the background you want to display.

For Macintosh:

Sorry.  I hope to have Macintosh instructions up soon.
